Manage your account

Change your name, email and password, link or remove GitHub, sign out other browsers and pick a theme from the Settings page.

The Settings page shows who you are signed in as and lets you change how you sign in, end sessions on other browsers, and choose the Studio's theme. Open it from Settings at the bottom of the sidebar. Every member and admin can use it.

Account

The Account section shows your name, the email or GitHub @login you signed in with, and your role: Admin or Member.

Change your name

In the Account section, click Edit name.
Type your Name, up to 100 characters, and click Save name.

Your team sees the new name on the Members page. Signing in with GitHub keeps the name you chose.

Change your email

The email is the one you sign in with. Your password stays the same.

Under Sign-in methods, click Change email in the Password row.
Enter the New email and your Current password.
Click Change email.

From then on you sign in with the new email; the old one no longer works. If another member already signs in with that email, the dialog says "Another account already signs in with this email." under New email.

Change your password

Under Sign-in methods, click Change password in the Password row.

Enter your Current password, then a New password of at least 10 characters, and type it again in Confirm new password.

Click Change password.

This browser stays signed in. Every other browser signed in as you is signed out, and the confirmation says how many, for example "Password changed. Signed out 2 other browsers."

If the current password is wrong, the dialog shows "Your current password is wrong." under that field. For all password rules, see Password rules.

If the Password row says "Ask an admin for a reset link to add a password.", your account has no password yet. An admin can give you one with a reset link.

The GitHub row appears when the server offers GitHub sign-in. If it says Not linked to this account.:

Click Link GitHub.
Finish signing in on GitHub.

GitHub sends you back to Settings, and the row shows your @login. From then on you can use Continue with GitHub on the sign-in screen (Sign in with GitHub).

A GitHub account can belong to only one member. If it already belongs to someone else, nothing is linked and the Studio shows, for example, "GitHub account example-dev already belongs to another member."

Remove GitHub

When your account has both a password and GitHub, the GitHub row has a Remove button:

Click Remove in the GitHub row.
Click Remove again in the dialog.

You then sign in with your email and password only, and browsers that signed in with GitHub are signed out. You can link GitHub again later.

The Remove button does not appear when this browser signed in with GitHub (sign in with your password first), or when GitHub is your only way to sign in.

Sign out other browsers

The Signed-in browsers section lists every browser where you are signed in, for example "Chrome on macOS". The browser you are using has a This browser badge. Each row says when the browser was last active and when it signed in. Hover over that line to see when the session expires.

  • To sign out one other browser, click End session on its row.
  • To sign out every browser, this one included, click Sign out everywhere, then Sign out everywhere again in the dialog. You return to the sign-in screen. Your API keys keep working.

To sign out only this browser, click Sign out in the account menu (Sign out).

Choose a theme

Under Appearance, pick System, Light or Dark. System is the default and follows your operating system's setting. The choice is saved in this browser only, so other browsers keep their own.

You can also change the theme from Theme in the account menu. The sun or moon button next to the account menu switches straight between light and dark.

When sign-in is off

If the server runs with sign-in turned off, Account says "Sign-in is off on this server." and the Sign-in methods and Signed-in browsers sections do not appear. Appearance works as usual.
