Find and edit videos

Search, filter and sort your videos on the Videos page, preview them, and edit a video's title and description.

The Videos page lists your team's videos. Find a video by searching, filtering or sorting, preview it without leaving the list, and change its title or description.

Open it from Videos in the sidebar. The line under the heading counts your videos, for example "12 videos, 1 processing. Drop files anywhere on this page to upload." Dropping files there opens them on the upload page.

Type in Search by title or ID above the list. The list updates as you type. It finds videos whose title or description contains the text you typed (upper or lower case does not matter), or whose video ID matches a full ID you pasted.

Press / anywhere on the page to jump to the search field. Press Escape in the field to clear it.

Filter

  • Status: All, Ready, Processing, Uploading, Waiting for file or Failed. For what each status means, see video statuses.
  • Access: All, Public or Private.

Clear filters appears while a search or filter is set and removes them all.

If some videos never received their file within 10 minutes, a line under the list says, for example, "2 uploads never started." Click Show them to filter the list to Waiting for file.

Sort

In the table, click a column heading to sort by it: Video (title), Length, Size or Uploaded. Click it again to reverse the order. The list starts with the newest videos first.

In the grid, use the Sort menu: Newest first, Oldest first, Title A to Z, Title Z to A, Longest first, Shortest first, Largest first or Smallest first.

Table or grid

Switch between Table and Grid at the right of the toolbar. The Studio remembers your choice in this browser.

  • Table shows each video's Status, Access, Length, Plays, Size and Uploaded date.
  • Grid shows each video as a tile with its status.

The list shows 24 videos per page. Use Previous and Next under the list to move between pages.

On a phone, the page shows one card per video and a row of status buttons with counts in place of the toolbar.

The page address keeps your search, filters, sort, view and page, so you can bookmark a filtered list or share it with a teammate.

Open or preview a video

  • Click a video's title to open its video page.
  • To watch a ready video without leaving the list, open the video's actions menu (the button at the end of its row) and choose Preview, or focus the title and press Space. A panel opens with the player and the embed code. Press the left and right arrow keys, or Previous video and Next video, to step through the ready videos on the page. Open video goes to the video page.

The actions menu also has Copy embed code, Open video, Copy stream URL (public videos), Make private or Make public, Copy video ID and Delete…. Some items show only for ready videos.

Work with several videos

Tick the box at the start of each row (or each tile) to select videos. Shift-click a second box to select every video in between. The box in the table heading, or Select all in the grid, selects every video on the page.

A bar appears at the bottom with what you can do with the selection: Make public (when some selected videos are private), Make private (when some are public), Copy embed code (ready videos only) and Delete. When the whole page is selected and there are more results, the bar offers Select all N results. Above 500 results it offers Select the first 500 results instead. Press Escape or click the close button on the bar (Clear selection) to clear the selection.

For deleting, see Delete videos. For changing who can watch, see Choose who can watch.

Edit the title and description

Open the video from Videos.

To change the title, click the pencil button next to it (Edit title). Type the new title and press Enter.

To change the description, click Edit in the Description card. Type the new text and press Ctrl Enter (⌘ Enter on a Mac).

Clicking outside the field also saves. Press Escape to cancel. The Studio confirms with "Changes saved".

  • Title: required, up to 200 characters.
  • Description: optional, up to 5,000 characters. A counter appears near the limit.

If someone else changed the video since you opened it, the field says "This video was changed somewhere else. Reload it to see the latest, then edit again." Click Reload, then save again to keep what you typed, or press Escape to keep their version.
